Chateau de Neige captures the welcomed isolation of a warm cabin in the quiet woods; away from the noise of the city. I painted this after a dear friend posted her "stay"cation a few years ago, avid skiers in Quebec,ON. Of course I was drawn to the contrast of the red against the crisp white snow, but I could feel the story within me - hence the need to translate through the brush.

Chateau de Neige is a 11 x 15 watercolour created on Arches 140lb paper and painted with the finest paints from Daniel Smith, Windsor Newton and Holbein.

It is mounted on a 1.5 inch "gallery depth" birch cradled panel and is sealed with matte finish to protect from UV.
